when you started playing music together,
what kind of music you play, whether you play at live events or in public
and what is your role?

FOS is a band from Thessaloniki, Greece, that started in the year 2000.
Our band has changed shapes and sizes over the years,
but the most recent group was formed in 2013.
Our music is Contemporary Christian Pop.
I am one of the first members, and my role is mostly song writing and coordinating our team.
We often play in Thessaloniki and travel around Greece, wherever we are invited.
You came to Athens exclusively for one live event
in the humanitarian organization REFUGE OF LOVE.
Have you ever played for a charitable cause in the past?

Two years ago we played for the Mercy Center in Athens,
a place that provides care to drug-addicts.
In addition, we are individually involved with charitable works,
as some of us are members and volunteers at an NGO called Hope Spot in Thessaloniki,
that helps women and children who are victims of human trafficking and domestic abuse.
We have played unofficially at refugee reception centers and on the streets,
wanting to approach different audiences through our music.
Please mention briefly the members of FOS.

He studies Geology and graphic design.

She studies Political Science.
Marianna Dovletoglou (2nd from the right): Guitar and vocals.
She studies Computer Science.
George Kapetanikolas (3rd from the left): Drums.
He studies Accounting and works as a photographer.

We have played in Thessaloniki, Katerini, Ptolemaida, Athens, Evoia, Alexandria, Corinth,
How do people respond to your music?
The purpose of our music is to bring people closer to the reality of the love
and the presence of God. No matter where we are in life,
or what our background or religion is, the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross meets us all
where we are, and however we are, and lifts us up!
The message of the cross is simple and it is for everyone.
He invites us to find love and safety in His embrace.
People’s response to our music is positive, although it may be a new sound to them,
because I believe it speaks to the longing of every person’s heart;
a longing for love, forgiveness and acceptance;
a longing to meet a real and approachable God,
who speaks to our every day life and is there to give answers.
And this is at the core of our expression and our music.
Where will your next live event be?
Our next event will be in Athens, at the Refuge for Love.
While in Athens, we will play at a women’s conference and a children’s event too.

What is one last thought from you to all our friends at the Refuge for Love?

Our prayer for this evening that we will spend together,
that we will be able to feel their pain,
embrace them through our music and ask for the love of Jesus to ease this pain.
We wish to give them the hope and joy that Jesus gave to our own lives,
so that they leave this event full of something that will remain in their hearts forever;
the faith that truly He can make all things new in our lives;
no matter how hopeless our situations are.
Because there is always a way out for God;
He is the Way when it seems to be no way.
We long for them to have a taste of Jesus and drink from His water,
the water that will make them never thirst again.
It is such an honor for us to be with them and serve them.
