Bob Sorge 2018 Greece visit

Bob Sorge is "the speaker who can't talk," that is, he is reduced to a whisper
because of a debilitating vocal injury he suffered over 20 years ago.
Through the journey, God has given him an empowering message that explores
God's purposes in fiery trials. It's not the fire that changes you,
but your pursuit of God in the fire that changes you.
Bob has a unique way of helping us process our journey so we stay in the race and overcome.
Whether you're reading one of his books or listening to him, you're about to receive a word
from the heart of God that will strengthen your faith and draw you into greater intimacy with Jesus.

You visited Greece recently. Did you enjoy your visit?
Yes, I had my first-ever visit to Greece in September, 2018.
We spent a couple days in Thessaloniki and then four days in Athens.
I rarely do tourist stuff when I’m on a ministry trip, but I just had to make an exception
with Greece because of the amazing historical heritage of this nation.
We took a day to visit the Areopagus and the Acropolis.
There were so many stunning sights! And it so happened that I caught the tail end of fig
season on my trip, so I was able to enjoy fresh figs in Greece—something that’s a real
treat for an American.

What was your favorite thing about your visit to Greece?
The people. We had four meetings in four churches, and each time I just fell in love
with the beautiful people of Greece. After I leave Greece, the people of this nation will
continue to live in my heart.

You’re an author of over 20 books, and I understand one of your books has just been
published in Greek. The title is ENVY: The Enemy Within. Would you want to tell us
about this book?
Virtually all the books I’ve written, are the result of God working very strongly in my life in specific ways. In the case of this book, God inspired me to write the book because of the way I’ve both envied others and felt the envy of others.
When God challenged this issue in my heart, it was very painful to realize I had a problem with envy. We don’t like to admit that envy is our problem because when we admit we struggle with envy, we’re admitting to several issues:
-We’re admitting we’re unthankful for the things God has given us
-we’re admitting that we’re still struggling to find our identity in Christ.
-we’re admitting that we function in a spirit of competition with our brothers and sisters in the body of Christ.

None of us wants to admit to any of those things, so it’s just easier to think we have no
problems with envy. But God is highlighting this issue in the church today because it’s
so harmful to the health of the church. When the church deals with the envy issue, the
kingdom of God will surge forward with renewed vitality.

Bob, do you have any closing thoughts?
Yes. When you first see a book on Envy, your first thought is,
“Well, that doesn’t really apply to my life because that’s not my problem.”
But by the time you’ve finished reading the first few chapters, I think you’ll begin to realize
that envy is a universal struggle for virtually all believers.
The Lord will use the book to help you see things He’s been wanting you to recognize.

May you have grace to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches in this hour.
And may I add one thing? There are rumblings that another one of my books
may be published soon in Greek.
Be watching for a SECRETS OF THE SECRET PLACE to become available in Greek.
It’s my most popular book, and the Lord is using it to put fresh fire in the devotional life of believers
around the world. May your passion for Jesus grow more and more
and may you become more fruitful than ever in the kingdom of God, to the glory of the Father. Amen!
