CELEBRANT singers in Athens, on the 17th July 2016

CELEBRANT SINGERS are performing since 1977 in all over USA and 98 countries worldwide, 
combining spiritual depth with musical excellence and quality leadership. 

 Conduct in '78 the last major Christian outreach in Iran before the fall of the Shah, 
invited in '79 to sing for Mother Teresa’s Nobel Peace Prize reception,  

received in '84 by Pope John Paul II on three different occasions  

 and 2014 performed in France.

Each CELEBRANT team is composed of ten singers, 

a 12-piece live orchestra, sound and lighting technicians and a signer for the hearing impaired. 

In their program, they travel to approximately 60 cities in North America
and at least one country overseas. This year Greece is their oversea destination.

On the 17th July 2016, at the Hotel NOVOTEL in Athens, from 1100am until 0130pm.

Why did you choose Greece for performing this year?

Each time when we have days set aside for international ministry, 

which is typically two or three times a year, we pray and ask the Lord for guidance, 

“Lord, where do you want us to go?”  

This year, on several different occasions and in several different ways, 

the Holy Spirit’s prompting was to Greece, with a particular emphasis on the refugee situation.

Have you ever been to Greece as a team?

Yes we have, but it’s been many, many years...

 right around the time when the Parthenon was built!  

Actually we were in Greece twice in the early 1980’s.

You are a Christian choir from many different denominations.  

Can you give as a taste what people will see and what music we will hear?

Well, first of all we’re not really a choir, we’re more of a vocal ensemble (10 singers) 

with a mini orchestra (12 players).  The vocalists are one on a microphone, 

high energy with very intricate harmonies. 

 For us, the lyrics – what the song says - is the most important component 

in every song we write or choose to sing.  

Our objective in each concert is to bring the listener into God’s presence 

through praise and worship.  

We use a variety of music to reach that objective.

What would you like to wish to the Greek people and nation, 

undergoing these difficult years of financial and also spiritual crisis?

I have great compassion for the Greek people and also 

the disenfranchised refugees from other countries seeking asylum and entry in these days.  

There’s a great deal of economic, social, societal and spiritual pain in this season.  

But hope springs eternal!  

Greeks are an ancient people, and several times in their long history 

have been a people at the “top of their game”. 

I strongly believe those days can come again……

but it comes down to each individual heart.  

My desire for the people of Greece is to realize how much God loves them 

and is holding them in His arms during these challenging times.  

I would love to see each individual, each family, each church and institution, 

each municipality and eventually the entire country, accept His amazing love, 

put Him first and walk humbly and with gratitude before Him.  

If this path were to be followed…..

if Greece were truly swept with a spirit of repentance and revival…….

the impact on the country and the world would be incalculable!  

We must pray to that end.
